With the onset of summer, Khandani Rajdhani Bangalore is doing another successful run of its annual Aamlicious event. The idea of this fest is to serve an assortment of raw mango and ripe mango dishes in a rotational menu, with every meal featuring two – three mango themed dishes. It was quite an atmosphere of anticipation and celebration when we reached the Koramangala outlet of Rajdhani Bangalore. There are many outlets in various parts of the city, all running this food fest. As people started filling in, Aji knew well enough from experience that the cameras must ‘eat’ first. Promptly, a table was laid out with all the dishes for photographers and their bazillion attempts to perfect shots. The spread already looked lovely!

The spread!
For the bloggers’ table, their standard menu was served along with all their mango offerings. The meal started with Kairi Chilli Samosa, Kairi Potli Kachori, Aam Bhare Papad Roll – I was experiencing this format of service for the first time, and I was already full halfway through the starters. The food tasted simple and good, and it was nice to see the enthusiasm with which people are served here! Soon we went on to the serious stuff – Aam ki Launji with Khoba Roti, Raw Mango Pachadi – Phew! There were mango dishes from several regions covered in the selection – from Rajasthan, Gujarat, Kerala and more. Kairi Dal Dhokli, Aamras Puri were quite tasty while the Malabari Mango Kadhi had a very different taste. The Mango jalebi was a deliciously intriguing sweet, served with Rabdi – a perfect conclusion to this gigantic meal.
