Last week I was invited to the 3rd Anniversary party at Big Brewsky, a Game of Thrones themed dinner. A select guest list, a theme décor with attention to every detail, and a menu worthy of royalty ensured an amazing evening and a spectacular feast. The long banquet table set up with candelabra, meats and breads. And the various banners of the Houses in Game of Thrones lined up all around. The lighting, medieval décor and cookware accentuated the layout. The food menu was spectacular – beautifully conceptualized by Chef Saby and brilliantly executed. While a lovely cocktail menu just sealed the deal.
Some of the dishes and drinks that were absolutely marvelous start with the Tommen Crown Roast – rack of lamb garnished, roasted and presented beautifully. I would say fit for the iron throne! The whole suckling pig in apple sauce was enticing from the moment it was put on the table – and delicious to the last bite. The Hunters’ Game was a rabbit fricassee – braised in the sauce, and quite enjoyable with the breads. The scrumptious Toad in the Hole was sausage gravy and bread that really demanded a second helping! The twin soup – Thick Sweet Pumpkin and Beetroot Borscht was beautiful and delicious.
The dessert selection was wonderful. Bleeding Heart Pears with spiced red wine, and Devil’s Massacre of dark chocolate gateaux flambeed with Cointreau, can’t get over these. And amazing cocktails by Karthik made sure we were never without a drink during the entire evening. True to Tyrian Lannister’s philosophy – everything’s always better with some wine in the belly! Lust for Darkness, The Night King, Lannister’s Wine – and finally concluded with a dessert drink – the Night Cap, very different and very enjoyable.
Congratulations to Team Big Brewsky on this fabulous feat, and remarkable anniversary celebrations. This party was truly a bar raiser. Thank you for having me there. All photos courtesy Big Brewsky.
