Last month saw the launch of a brand-new salon chain in Bangalore Marie Claire Paris, inaugurated by actress and model, Mugdha Godse. Marie Claire Paris, the exclusive French lifestyle brand, forays into the Indian beauty and wellness sector with the launch of its first Salon & Wellness in Bangalore. A few weeks back I was invited for an experiential at the Marie Claire’s Koramangala outlet in Bangalore. Conveniently located near National Games Village, in a quiet corner, the place is easy to find. A nice bright salon interior greeted me, with pleasant bright colors and warm hues. The salon and wellness space offers hair and skin services for men and women. For the women patrons, they also have a nail bar and a host of massages.

After an especially tough week, a nice long massage was something I was SO looking forward to. The masseuse assigned to me was well trained and explained the various selections available. We discussed and zero-ed in on the Swedish massage – an all-purpose massage designed to improve circulation, soothe muscles and basically just relax. I can tell you they were very peaceful 60 minutes that followed – with a combination of soft and firm pressure to release muscle tension, the massage therapy did wonders. It lasted for 60 minutes, which is perfect. The service is done in private cabin rooms equipped with a bath and steam, so it’s as private as it gets despite being in a salon.

Gyan is the head stylist at Marie Claire, and he did a styling session with me. The salon works with Rene Furterer Paris products, that are botanical based, and are exceptional for hair care. René Furterer’s philosophy around healthy scalp and beautiful hair is a 3-phased approach – Prepare, Cleanse and Treat. All with natural and rich hair products giving an unparalleled experience. After a splendidly long wash with treatment conditioner, Gyan styled my hair into lustrous loose curls – which I absolutely loved. He didn’t use tongs or straightener, instead utilized a couple of Wella products for styling. Usually after curls my hair feels dry and stiff. The best part here – my hair felt natural and soft.

Marie Claire Salon & Wellness also has great nail services. I don’t usually do much, but the grey nail gel that I got done lasted me for over a week!
