Nestled in the heart of Hyderabad’s new business district is ITC Hotel’s latest property called ITC Kohenur. Overlooking the secret lake of the city, Durgam Cheruvu – this sprawling new property draws inspiration from the famed diamond ‘Koh-i-noor’. As we walked in, the crystal glass façade of the lobby, opulence surrounds everything about the place. The brilliance cut glass chandeliers, intricate detailing of each art piece placed in the hotel, the beautiful chandelier of handmade lac bangles – there are so many aspects of the hotel that resonate with magnificence and opulence to create ‘Rare and Priceless’ experiences. The hotel launched earlier this month – 1st June, 2018, being the 12th hotel to join its luxury hotel portfolio.
The architecture and design of the hotel mirror the facets of the feted jewel by bringing to life – art, culture, cuisine and heritage of the region in a contemporary milieu. Inspirations range from the striking boulders of Hyderabad, to the famous Bidri work, showcase of local arts & crafts to presenting the rich culinary legacy of the region.
ITC’s signature brand of culinary excellence is reflected in the 6-distinct food and beverage destinations. The acclaimed Dum Pukht is in a new avatar – Begum’s showcasing influences from the Royal kitchens of Hyderabad. Our first meal at the hotel was in Dum Pukht. The rich interiors of Dum Pukht Begum’s, reflects another famous diamond that originates from the region, Noor-ul–ain* (Light of the Eye), a tribute to the Princesses of Hyderabad. The Kakori, Biryani, Gosht and wines in the private dining room was a regal experience. And this culinary journey lived up to my previous experiences in Dum Pukht, outstanding!
ITC Kohenur will also house Yi Jing, a new brand from ITC, featuring Classic and Creative Chinese cuisine. Our dinner on the second night was in Yi Jing, and this new restaurant was packed to the hilt! The 4th edition of the group’s pan-Italian brand, Ottimo, and that will complement the Skypoint Bar on the rooftop. Skypoint has quite a picturesque view of the Hyderabad skyline. Golconda Pavilion, the 24*7 restaurant will showcase inventive international cuisine along with a large ‘Local Love’ repertoire feature Telangana and Andhra favorites. And finally, the Peacock bar epitomizes elegance with an extensive collection of fine beverages.
And an experience in itself is Fabelle chocolates, ITC’s premier offering in the luxury chocolate space. Made from cocoas sourced from the most exotic cocoa growing regions of the world and combined with unique ingredients, Fabelle offers an immersive and participative chocolate experience. ITC Kohenur has an outlet of Fabelle – offering Fabelle Elements, Fabelle Ganache, Gianduja, Single Origin Cacaos. There’s also a range of exquisitely crafted desserts and beverages created by Master Chocolatiers.
ITC’s indigenous spa brand Kaya Kalp Spa finds resonance with an array of signature treatments that underscore a well-being philosophy. The Hotel also features nine versatile and state-of-the-art Meeting, Banquet and Conference spaces. The rooms are large and spacious, across various ranges offered in ITC Hotels. The Grand Presidential Suite – Koh-i-noor is over 4000 square feet. There is also the Presidential Suite, ITC Club Privé, suite apartments available in various wings of the hotel that we discovered these during our show around of the hotel.
