At the Grand Mercure Launch last month in Mysore, we were invited for the evening gala dinner. Here’s my lookbook entry from the event.
THE DRESS
It was a formal cocktail, with delegates, government officials and foreign diplomats. My choices were flowy summer ensemble or a semi-formal dress. While I packed both (better have backups!) I kept the evening look simple. Pulled back hair, a Kenneth Cole New York Helice Color Block Ruched Dress to perk things up, and black gladiator heels.
The dress is zipped up back, and fits well. The key is always to pick the right dress that fits well. And no, contrary to popular belief, every latest fashion trend is not what makes the right dress. Pick something that’s comfortable and complements you. Comfort is key here, you don’t want to wear something that jabs you wrong, or won’t let you breathe, or even something you need to constantly readjust.
ADD ONS
I don’t really like to accessorize a lot. So simple Forever New danglers, a wrist cuff and watch were all I donned. Selecting a hand bag is usually the most important – that can completely transform a look. I chose the Michael Kors Cindy Dome Satchel in watermelon and gold color.
Stay tuned for more on my lookbook!
