Google House was an interesting event – one of it’s kind where tech meets everything else. Which essentially is the idea of Google all the way! We started off after a lunch at The Leela Palace, Bangalore. Sandeep Menon, Director – Marketing, Google India & Suren Ruhela Director- Product Management, Google Maps, Google Inc were the main hosts at this experiential. The event started with some interesting statistics of how the smart phone evolution has completely changed the number of people online, and how the online is a basic need now for just about everything. Suren Ruhela also mentioned about some interesting innovations on Google Maps, especially suited for India, keeping in mind how Indians give directions! Another interesting feature is online Google Translate – so you basically point to a board or writing, and you see the translation, of course this was in it’s prototype phase.

They were joined in this event by a few celebrities – Fashion Photographers Dabboo Ratnani and Anushka Menon, and Master Chef Kunal Kapoor. Kanan Gill, the good looking part of Pretentious Movie reviews was also there to speak about buffering on youtube, another fun feature for India – don’t we need it!
