Years have gone by, but I am still doing this ‘consulting’ per se of where to go on the Valentine’s Day. So I decided to put it down (again) on paper – err, my blog, for all to see and me to refer to! Usually Italian would be my preferred choice of cuisine for a romantic and special date. But, Asian food is a very close second. So here are some of the places in Bangalore that are celebrating the 14th February – Valentine’s Day in luxury and style.
ITALIAN SYMPHONY
Ottimo promises to put together a bespoke table d’hote (set) menu offering signature dishes like Cannoli with prawns, mesclun greens and sour cherry soup; Pesto tortellini aglio, Chicken thigh with hazelnut paste, poached quail crusted with pink and more – finally concluding the meal on a sweet note with a Dark chocolate tart with sour cherry sorbet or the pistachio crumble. In the beautiful setting of ITC Gardenia, this would be a meal in the lap of luxury. You could pop into the Fabelle Chocolate Boutique for a delicious after party dessert too!

AN EXCLUSIVE VALENTINE’S AT THE GRASSHOPPER
Grasshopper offers an exclusive experience this Valentine’s Day as a 7 course meal, private romantic seating that offer unmatched privacy and a specially curated meal that will romance your palate. They have 2 private tables set up, and a terrace table as well additional to the seating they currently have. I have recommended Grasshopper for romantic evenings and special dates earlier as well, so this had to make it to the list. Priced 8000++ onwards per couple.
THAI ROMANCE
Rim Naam in its beautiful surroundings in The Oberoi have a bespoke menu for the evening of 14th Feb, curated by Master Chef Tam – an interesting assortment of sweet and spicy flavors would definitely keep the romance sparkled. The price per person is 2500 onwards.
PAINT THE TOWN RED
Harry’s Koramangala is hosting a Whimsical Valentine in association with BrushPlay – a unique and special way to celebrate love by creating a painting – alone or with your partner. Paint and Dine is a concept that’s yet to gain popularity, but always fun to try something new. The art materials (including canvas, easels, aprons, paint and brushes) as well as guidance by an Artist would be provided and is included in the ticket fee; light snacks and mocktails during the session would also be served. Price per canvas is Rs.1600. For tickets, log on here.
The Open Box also has a Paint Love Sip on 14th, starting 6pm – priced at 1500 per person and 2000 per couple – for an evening of painting, drinking and dancing – a blend of new things to do, while not forgetting the classics of romance! For more details check out their page.
LAUGH FOR LOVE – IMPROV OR MOVIE NIGHT
For a relaxed day after work, there are a few laid back, less-pressure options. UB City has a screening for mushy movies (!) on 12th Feb and an Improv comedy standup performance on 14th Feb. More details and tickets on BookMyShow.
LOVE, LUXURY & ALLURE on VALENTINE’S DAY
Blue Ginger at Taj West End, India’s first Vietnamese restaurant has delicate yet intense flavors from Vietnam on serve next to a water hyacinth pool, cascading natural stone waterfall and Southeast Asian gardens landscaped by Michael White. Indulge in luxury as they have a chauffeur driven Mercedes drive you to the venue and relish every moment with over a four-course menu paired with a bottle of Rose Champagne at INR 5,000 per couple all inclusive. In fact various properties of Taj have quite a few options set out for the romance, a meal created with aphrodisiacs, couple tents under the night sky and more.
If shopping for gifts, going out and being mushy just isn’t your style, check out the options for a movie night, stand up comedy show. I personally wouldn’t mind a Poetry reading, but haven’t found any such event as yet. Will keep you guys posted, meanwhile, keep loving! <3
