My visit to Kava, an Indian restaurant in Fairfield by Marriott, was a unique experience. Kava is an Indian specialty restaurant for kababs and curries, with featured international cuisine that comes with a brand like Marriott. Located in the beginning of Rajajinagar, this restaurant has garnered a concept long avoided by restaurateurs in the city, an authentic Indian brunch. The venue itself hosts a brilliant, small selection of artworks, adding to its grandeur.
Chef Mahesh, an award winning chef from the Marriott line, handling this restaurant speaks quite fondly of his concept of bringing Indian food into this arena which houses exotic Mediterranean, Italian and Continental cuisines extensively. Right from live counters serving chats, to a wide array of chutneys, separate selections for vegetarian and non vegetarian clientele, earthy pots for serving their courses, Kava is tailor made for the Indian audience and palate.
Their offerings however, do not exclude the international audience in any way. Rotating counters of pasta, shawarma, pancakes keep things interesting at Kava. I was served a farfelle with mushrooms and chicken from their live counter of the day, which was a delicacy presented intricately! The head chef also took some time between managing the kitchen and speaking to his guests to whip up an amazing prawn salad for me. And their focus quintessential aspects of hospitality went a long way in making this experience count. A lot of the families dining there were with toddlers and their older siblings, and a seasoned magician was going up to people’s tables performing tricks as they enjoyed their brunch.
Their brunch package includes without alcohol, wine only and kids as separate options, starting with 899 plus taxes for adults. They have a good selection of mocktails, cocktails, liquor and sangria, and an enthusiastic staff willing to do more for the guests.
