A couple of weeks back we headed for the Sunday Brunch at 24@43, an all day, multi cuisine fine dining restaurant at the Crowne Plaza, Electronic City. The venue itself is inside the hotel, in a very large area with varying lighting and seating options. There was the outdoors, thoughtfully covered with glass, allowing ample natural light to flow in. This is where they have their many live counters. Then there is the traditional seating, and also an area near the bar. The artists for the brunch keep the music nice and peppy, while the natural lighting makes this a very good venue for a brunch. Their cuisines covered European, well Italian to be precise, Asian, and Indian food. Their counters comprised of dimsums, shawarma, usal pavs, sanas, chats and various other offerings giving the feel of street food in a fine dining environment.
The selections on the buffet brunch were not overwhelming. Every type of cuisine had about 4-5 options, and equally distributed between vegetarian and non vegetarian. There was a large selection of salads, with fresh dressings, and also a make-your-salad counter. As an international brand of hotel, Crowne Plaza serves clientele from all over the world, especially Europe. The menu is created trying to cater to the varying palate across regions, and I must say, they were quite successful in achieving a truly multi cuisine buffet. In addition to all of this, were their unique live counters of Tandoor, Pizza and my personal favorite – the Teppanyaki Ice cream.
The dessert selection is by far one of the largest that I had seen. With a large number of delicious and delectable cheese cakes, gateaux and Indian sweets as part of the brunch, and the Teppan ice cream counter – a definite trump card, 24@43 definitely presents one of the fabulous brunches in the city. Additionally, their confectionary also has beautiful desserts outside the brunch menu, and they have taken a challenging and serious step towards dessert art.
And just in case you’re wondering about the name, its 24 (hours) for all day dining, located at 43 Phase 1, Electronic City. For more information on the hotel chain, and restaurant, visit: http://www.ihg.com/crowneplaza/
