Bangalore is known to be a city of alfresco dinings and lazy weekends. But the last few months had been quiet with lockdowns and restrictions. Now with the city opening up, people vaccinated and regulations in place, things are slowly moving back to normalcy. And among all those things, a comeback of the brunches was much needed. Brunching is a time for people to come together, share food, drinks, laughs, have conversations, hopefully disconnect from devices and enjoy the human connect. Which is much needed after this past year. So when Pinky invited us over for the Sunday Brunch at The Oberoi Bengaluru, we were more than ready! It was going to be an afternoon of good food, live music, cocktails and friends.

Sea Food, Sushi and Chef Bobby Recto #WabiSabiExperience

We were going to sit in the open air patio by the deck, which is surrounded by the verdant foliage. But the rains moved our plans to Lapis, and we didn’t mind. The tall French windows gives the space a sense of fluidity. The buffet includes sushis and seafood from Wabi Sabi, Siamese Curry Bowls and Thai curries and stir-fries. from Rim Naam, extensive selection of Indian and Western, host of live counters and a big, big spread of desserts. We started with Wabi Sabi – the freshly shucked oysters were absolutely delicious. Chef Bobby and his team were dishing out a variety of sushis and cold cuts. The grills were next – prawns, meats, salmon in choice of sauces. These were my favourite, they are perfect as brunch food, easy and delicious!
