This month The Oberoi, Bengaluru is celebrating their 25th Anniversary – 25 glorious years of luxury hospitality in the city! And to commemorate this special year, the culinary team has curated a menu that reflects on the finest dishes served in the property over the last two and half decades. The spread includes dishes from all their in-house specialty restaurants at the hotel. And a few of us were invited for a special preview of this spread last weekend, and here is a glimpse of that meal.
It was a beautiful day, the rains made the usually verdant lawns of the The Oberoi, Bengaluru – a bright, lush green. Fresh and juicy prawn cocktail started our meal, served chilled and saucy. A delicious and sizzling tangdi chicken kababs followed. The Meen Polichattu – spicy bhetki steamed in banana leaf was another yummy masterpiece. We tried some Thai Chicken Dumplings – the birds eye chili left a long, hot aftertaste. Seriously spicy!
The crab salad was spectacular. Avocado and crab, topped with some micro greens – kept things simple, and packed a nice crunch too. A chorizo pizza laden generously with cheese was a delight to eat, and the second pizza was a fungi mushroom overload. We nibbled on these in between conversations, slowly and steadily progressing through the courses. After the consomme, we moved on to Tenderloin Prik Thai with Sticky Rice – which was very well made, and absolute comfort food. There were three desserts served that afternoon. And while I tried very hard to resist them, you know looking at the pictures below, why that was so tough!
When and Where?
This menu will be in the form of buffet at the all-day dining restaurant of The Oberoi, Bengaluru – Le Jardin. Available 26th August for lunch.
